Originally released as FFIII in USA final fantasy 3 was censored a bit, such as renaming holy as pearl, and changing street signs. The "quirkiness" was also changed a bit. If you loved FFIII then you will enjoy final fantasy VI advance more because I've read on wikipedia that it was re translated and even sums up a little better a few easily misinterpreted parts in the plot.

Over all the game is an old school turn based rpg set in a steam-punk setting and is very extensive in customization (keep in mind that it was released on the Super Nintendo console). Classes can learn magic based on the Magicite collected, yet the game truly shines in it's story. It has everything you could want.. Heroes, world-shattering events, magic, mindless evil�plus Interceptor the wonder dog. If a person can get past the graphics they will realize that this game is a 16-bit masterpiece.
