Introduction: Everybody knows the Flintstones, the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series about the stone age family.
And what could be better than a Gameboy game featuring them? Everything.
Review: Hmm... The Flintstones is a normal Platform game, with nice graphics and a small story. Nice, you
would say, but no. The sound is bad, and the fact that you can't choose your character doesn't
make it any better. Simply put, this is one of the worst games I've ever played, and there is no
need to check it out (not even download it). It just takes up too much space. The controls are
bad, and Fred Flintstone doesn't look very clever when jumping up and throwing his stone axes
either. As a matter of fact, the game sucks. Big time. You're just going to walk though some
levels, throw some stone axe a few times, and ride your dinosaur. The fact that the levels are
very long and hard doesn't make it any better when you realize that the game doesn't have either
a password system or a save system - meaning you have to start all over again if you lose or
turn off the game. I think Taito should have spent more time on it, cause you will beat the game
in half an hour. But, if you like Jump'n run, and like "Home Alone" for the NES (cough), this is
the game for you.

Conclusion: This game sucks, and you don't need it for your collection of Gameboy games. If you play it, I
warn you, you could fall asleep. Really. The graphics are OK, but they haven't spent much time at
that part either.

| Its The Flintstones, all you have to do, is jumping and shooting. It COULD have
been cool if the game was completed, but I don't think it is. There is also the fact that you'll
have to shoot, or throw, every enemy up to two times (one to paralyze it, and one to kill it).
And, on top of that, you're able to stand on the enemy while it's paralyzed. "Cool", eh? |
The graphics are OK. Just one thing is wrong about it; they would have been much
better if they were NOT animated at all. There is nothing wrong with them, I just don't think
they are very good. When you look at the characters, you'll laugh out loud. Watch when Fred
jumps (you'll see that in the air, he runs with his small feet). Why? To make it cartoony, I
know. Bleugh. |

| The sounds in the game are very bad. After you hit an enemy, Fred makes an annoying
sound when he jumps backwards. When you throw your axes, you will hear this ugly moise that
sounds like: "chuck!" That's the ugliest thing I ever heard. The music is the good old
Flintstones music, but they don't sound as cool as they should. They sound very... plain. |
Well, in my opinion, this is a bad game. They should have spent much more time on
it (as I said above), and the sounds could have been a bit more nice. It's a nice game for two
year old babies, but not for me. I just didn't like it. In fact, I hate that game. |
