Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey (PSX)

Abe's a mild mannered, Mudokon slave working at meat factory Rupture Farms. Rupture farms seems to be in trouble as they 'farmed' their last product to extinction. The kicker is that the new treat they've come up with consists of mainly...well..Mudokon. :P Oddworld's Abe's Odyssey remains to be one of my top 5 playstation games of all time.
The game offers a lot in terms of originality, especially for a 2D platformer. To get by the various stages you have to use your own skills as well as your enemies! The game is alive with several different species of aliens that include the Sligs, Scrabs, Slogs and Paramites (my favourite...just like puppies :D). Each species has their own traits that you have to understand to survive! The puzzles in the game are very well thought out and quite ingenious. It balances its action and puzzle elements perfectly. In short, Abe's Odyssey never fails to excel in any aspect and if you really haven't heard of it before this, kindly go stand in that corner over there :P.
