Released by Irem on July 31st, 1999, R-Type Delta breathed life into a genre that was thought more or less dead. Definitely one of the best shooters on the PS1. R-Type Delta works on the concept of the "Force-Unit". This is a small satellite which keeps hovering around your ship and can be used to destroy foes at distances away from yourself. In this new title, Irem has added two new ships apart from the default one, each ship having a different kind of Force-Unit function.
Throughout the game, you'll be presented with a multitude of beautiful graphics, varied gameplay and tough challenges. R-Type Delta isn't an easy game, however it's definitely one that'll keep you hooked until the end. Irem has certainly released a title worthy of every shooter fan out there. Also, the game has been redone beautifully in 3D, this ofcourse adds to your experience. If you're the type of person who enjoys games like Gradius and R-Type then R-Type Delta is a must have for you, try it out : ).
