Zinc
Anyone fancy making a quick guide for Zinc (new version) ;) ie where to get the roms, what frontend is recommended, what rom renaming utility is needed etc
There is a guide already here; http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/zincguide.htm
But not having much luck running anything.
Worth noting is I've obtained roms from several places (including this very site) and still haven't been able to run anything.
I've tried running from a frontend, as well as the command line (ie Zinc -44 to play one of the Tekkens) - tried all the numbers ;)

Are you asking for help here or just pointing the guide out
I don't use guides :P unless I realy can't figure something out
I'll add the guide to the off site guides list though later :)
hmm OK then I'll have a good look at the updated version later aswell ;)

Oh and yeah I'm asking for help ;) The new version is doing my head in, everything I try to play is giving me one error after another. Be it bad Rom CRCs, or wanting differently named files that do not appear to be in either of the roms I obtain (parents and clones both checked).
Let me know if you get the new one working anyway. I'll give it another go later when I'm not feeling stupid, lol
/think I sussed it
Just did a zinc --list-games to get a full list of what files I needed.

I could start the games with:
zinc ??(number of game) --renderer=(location of renderer-file).
For example:
zinc 1 --renderer=./wind3d/renderer.znc
I got the games from usenet (currently posted there).
EDIT: also http://www.planetemu.net have updated their list.
EDIT2: Just saw that I made some mistakes in the startup-line....

Damn I was gonna suggest Planet Emu also. Kudos go to Russian Spy:evilgrin:

you can't use old zinc roms with new zinc. you have to use the mame roms.
