    Default X/1999 Guild

This is the place for all fans of Clamp's X/1999. Come and talk about anything X/1999. And I mean ANYTHING! Fanfics, fan art, rants, opinions, etc...

Also, you can claim any character as yours. But only one. Which is a pain in the arse, cause the majority of the characters are awesome! And when I say claim, I mean YOU own their leash. They are YOUR pet.

Example: I claim Fuma! *proceeds to put a blue collar and leash on Fuma* He all mine! *giggles like the fangirl she is*

And I really do claim Fuma.

They're all in good (200 megs an episode) quality on Kazaa, if you can bear the occasional corruption that downloading video files off Kazaa brings

Anyways, on topic, if we're 'claiming characters', then err...Kamui is mine

Yeah... that's basically what it is, but there's more to it than that. Here's some more:

The dreamgazers Hinoto and Kanoe foresaw the awakening of the Dragons of Earth (aka. 7 minions or angels or Chi no Ryu) and the Dragons of Heaven (the 7 seals or the Ten no Ryu). Each side contains 7 people destined with supernatural abilities and will fight on the promised day of 1999. If the Dragons of Heaven wins then our present world stays the same, if the Dragons of Earth wins then our world will be forever changed. They say it is for the better but how are we to know? Many innocent lives will be sacraficed and the Earth will be shattered.

The two dragons have slept for a long time, contained in their own realm by kekkai's or spiritual seals. The seals are being broken and then the 7 seals and the 7 minions/angels will summon their respective dragon and fight for the fate of the world.

The seven seals have the power to summon a kekkai to protect our world when in a battle and the 7 minions/angels have the power to destory that kekkai. The 7 seals will try to form kekkai's to keep the dragons in their own respective realms and the 7 minions/angels will try to break the kekkai to release the dragons for the final battle.

The two dreamgazers take opposite sides and starts gathering their Seals and Minions/Angels, each for their own reasons. They wait for the twin dragons to awaken for battle. One problem though...one of the 7 Seals is also one of the 7 Minions/Angels.

Kamui Shirou has the the power of both sides. Fuma Monou is Kamui's childhood best friend. He was born to be Kamui's twin star so whichever side Kamui chooses, Fuma will take his place on the opposite site with all of his memories washed away. He holds the fate of the world in his hands. Will he choose to save this world, or to destroy it? Which side will he choose? Problem is, Kamui doesn't care what happens either way.

Quick question? Is it really true that Viz is no longer publishing X/1999? I heard that from a friend, but I haven't been able to check it out.

I just got volume one of the manga, and the soundtrack. Have the movie, and am working on getting the series. And, since I'm such a pathetic fangirl, I'm making myself Fuma's school uniform for the KumoriCon.

    Yup. Say that I'm pathetic!

X is great, the series much more so than the movie. I really should read the manga as Clamp is one of my favorite teams and X was my first introduction to them some time ago.

You can probably guess why I love the series. My favorite director, Mr. Yoshiaki Kawajiri, directs it as well as the OAV.

Rintaro, of Labyrinth and Metropolis fame, directs the movie, which was probably a bad idea considering the direction Kawajiri took the series in.

By the way, X DVD 8 will be released on 25 November.

The DVDs are not yet available here, aside from the movie, which you have my agreement on being vastly inferior... The series is really excellent though, definetly one I'd consider purchasing if and when it came here.
