Some people import stuff to resell but it's harder to do that cheaply now for obvious reasons.

Some of the old 2600, C64 etc releases here have Aussie unique packaging.
Do you know the NES game Raid 2020 ?
That was released in the US but the only PAL release is over here by HES (there might be 2 Aussie versions but I've only ever seen the piggyback version).

I've got Pitfall C64 local release cart. It's hard to find here but not ultra rare. It's CiB.
yeah I've plaid raid 2020. how much different is your packaging compared to the us or pal? cause I always figured you guys had the same box/cart artwork as pal releases.

Most HES releases look different, the art is similar but presented differently usually.
Easiest thing to do is look up titles on gamefaqs, atariage and the like and you should be able to see the different packaging (on atariage you can see cart labels).

Some of the local NES releases by HES are piggyback carts.

Local PAL stuff can sometimes be presented differently, like N64 local PAL packaging is slightly different to Euro and our manuals are usually just English.

Sometimes stuff won't be any different besides local rating instead of UK/EU rating, but if it's different enough overall then is usually regarded as a variant.
The Raid 2020 NES example is an odd one, like UK/EU collectors of PAL releases would need to get the AU version as that's the only PAL. There might be some other odd examples like that.

ordered a set of 11 security torx bits from aliexpress $2.63 compared to $7.99 for a 2 piece set on ebay. it'll take longer but the price was worth it.
so pissed now went to check on my order the fucking cunts jacked the price up on me to almost $8 if I wanted to pay that much I would have bought them off ebay and got them sooner

I've seen that on ali before.
Even on ebay you can have overseas sellers (not just Chinese) asking for more shipping money, or cancelling a purchase and then changing buy it now price.
The most common thing (over the last 12-18 months) is overseas sellers cancelling purchase because "I can't ship". What has actually happened is that they never updated shipping prices due to covid and can't send at old listed shipping rates. Japanese sellers on ebay are really bad for this (I mean for AU buyers).
I shouldn't have to be asking every single overseas seller if they can actually send to here and that their shipping prices are currently accurate. But that's what I have to do now, because sellers are lazy and stupid plus ebay doesn't care.
