Helloween - Before the War

One of the better songs of The Time of the Oath. Awesome. Yes.

I'd definately agree with you there. Sadly, I didn't care for <b>The Time of the Oath</b> too much. I don't know, it might have been the copy that I had, but it didn't really have a very clear sound to it; sounded a little distorted and staticy, and the vocals didn't stand out enough over the instruments.

Probably was just my copy, though. My friend bought it used off eBay.

Masterplan - Heroes

Mix one of my favourite vocalists (J�rn Lande (Jorn, Ark)) with a few members from one of my favourite bands (Helloween), and you get Masterplan. This song reminds me of Stratovarius.

edit: Is it me, or does Michael fucking KISKE sing together with Lande in this song?!!?!?? *checks Google*

David Bowie-cover. Deris' voice fits this voice perfectly in my opinion.

It does fit the song rather well. I do have that CD, and it r0x0rs my metaphorical b0x0rs. I can't listen to it as much as I can listen to the original by Bowie, however. I don't know why, it just doesn't seem right without Bowie behind it.

Just what the fuck can get better than that? Warriors of the World was one kick-ass album, despite having a rather gay cover.

Forefather - Fifeldor

These guys like to call their style "Anglo-Saxon Metal", and I can clearly see why. Those little viking-ish melodies fit in very nicely. The singing is pretty cool too, nice and epic... but on some other songs they use a black metal-ish rasp. Highly reccomended to anyone who has never listened to viking metal before.

Luca Turilli - Kings of the Nordic Twilight

I'm pretty sure this is fantasy metal. Fun stuff.

Just listened to that song, but I must say that Forefather sounds nothing like that. Luca Turilli is (cheesy) symphonicpower metal, and it's lyrical themes are about fantasy(not bad IMO). Forefather is more about old English history and Anglo-Saxon culture or whatever, and the genre sounds a whole lot like black metal except for the singing, which is mostly clean vocals. Speaking of which...

Forefather - The Fighting Man

Everything about this song is so cool except for the main verse... it just sounds so lame! "The Figh...ting.... Ma-....aaaa-....aaan"... :/ They must've ran out of fancy lyrics on this song, they should've saved all the good stuff for the main verse.

One complaint I have about the band is that they don't have a drummer, but rather they use a drum-machine for recordings(much like what Finntroll did when they started, only this band already has 4 albums). I sure hope these 2 guys(brothers by the way) form a full band soon so they can go on tour and shit. The same goes for Arsis.

By the way, I hear that Luca Turilli's 2nd album was much better, so check that one out while you're at it.
