er. a communist guild would be pro-fascist though. Both commies and fascists believe in socialism, and the whole "steal from the middle class to give to the wealthy state politicians, and make every action in life a living hell of red tape."

There's a difference between state capitalism, where the state does its best to give the local industry giants every advantage and disregards the welfare of the lower classes, and state-run economy, where the state steps in, kicks out the local industry giants, and runs everything itself. Fascism is strongly aligned with the radical right, organized deist religions, and the aristocratic rich (Except in Nazi Germany, where Hitler had a strong distaste for the perceived "Prussian elite" bordering and passing into hatred), while Communism is strongly aligned with the radical left, state atheism, and the downtrodden poor. Both will destroy the middle class, certainly, but do so to completely different ends. Granted, in the end, the predominance of totalitarianism in both systems means there is a striking similarity between the ruling classes in both systems, but economics and the lower classes will vary.
