    Default Most underappreciated gaming system?

Ok, here's the deal. What do you think is the most underappreciated gaming system ever? There's been a lot of systems out there that should have succeeded, and yet they failed.

Anyway, I'd have to say that the most underappreciated gaming system is the Turbografx-16. Man that thing rocks. I dare you to play TG-16 and not have fun.

I don't know if many people knew much of the Neo Geo, but I only discovered it from the internet and rom sites such as EP here.

I think that it is an excelent system and the games on it still don't look too shabby as graphics go and you get very responsive gameplay.

See, I was gonna go for the Neo-Geo, since it's pretty much my favorite system, but I know it's got a huge "cult", if you will, following.

I guess that invalidates it as an unappreciated gaming system then? forl

Well I personally didnt realise it existed before and I don't think many of my friends have heard of it.

Nah, it's still underappreciated, very much so, but not the "most" underappreciated, in my opinion.

The Sega Saturn. It had loads of great arcade conversions that the PSX handled badly, such as CPS2 titles. It also had loads of great exclusive games, such as the original Virtua Fighter series and Panzer Dragon.

Yeah, I agree there. I love the Saturn as much as anyone. Hell, I've been dying to play Final Fight Revenge for years. If only MAME or GiriGiri (or Cassini, whatever the hell you wanna call it) could emulate the damn thing. I've got both the MAME and Saturn versions here on the ol' comp, and neither of 'em are emulated....

I'd have to go with Neo Geo Pocket. Loved that little guy, never stood a chance against the Gameboy.

Saturn on the 2D side of things was great indeed. Though when things turned 3D I think the 3DO was the most underappreciated system, it had great possibilities, especially with the expansion, though sadly all the developers ruined the system by making very bad games and not using the system properly. Ah well

On that note, I once saw a 3DO M3 on eBay for like $500. It was supposedly one of only 3 in existence.

Turbografx-16! Wow, it's been a long time since I've played that. Bonk was an awesome game. So much fun.

The lynx and the jaguar. Or maybe even the Master System in America.

No one in america or almost knows about the Master System wich was a great console for the time, it simply owned NES. The Lynx was a handheld by Atari wich was pretty cool and the Jaguar was the first 64bit console. Also by Atari.

I think the GameGear was an awesome system. All ppl do is complain about the battery life. I didn't care. I used the adapter. It was in color and came out 4 years before the GBC which didn't have as good of graphics. I liked Games like Sonic the Hedge Hog, Sonic Drift 2, the Lion King, Jungle Strike (which is NOT in teh goodset)
