Exactly. They're getting the game almost a year before the PS2 version, so there's no reason why the GC version won't sell, unless GC owners take the fact that it's no longer exclusive to mean that it's not worth buying. The funniest thing about all this is that GC owners are claiming Capcom's lied to them and betrayed them.
Capcom did go on record several times as having stated that RE4 would be exclusive to the GC. And when those statments were made, that was the case. However, things change. The higher-ups at Capcom decided it would be a bigger money-maker if it came out on the PS2 as well as the GC, and that so happened to run against those earlier statements. It's not as if the developers lied. It's just that their decisions were over-ruled in the name of higher profits.
It's funny though. The GC fanboys are really going nuts here. They forget the fact that they're getting it a year before PS2 owners. That doesn't seem to matter as much as the fact that they can no longer brag about the game being exclusive. It's was thier one crown jewel aside from the new Zelda, and not having it to lord over PS2 fans is making them crazy.
And of course all that breeds idiotic fanboy rants, such as "we got lied to", and "I'll never believe Capcom again!", etc, etc, etc. It's all irrational whining from idiots who just can't come to grips with the way business works, and the fact that sometimes things happen that you might not expect or even agree with, all in the persuit of the all mighty dollar....

That's the problem though, isn't it? Not that the game's showing up on the PS2, but that it's no longer exclusive, and thus something GC fan's can no longer lord over PS2 owners. It was thier one big game. The huge game that they were getting that noone else was, and the one game they could stick in the faces of PS2 owners and say "HA! Look what we're getting!"
Really though, all that shouldn't matter. It's still GC exclusive for nearly a year. PS2 owners won't be able to play it till around this time next year, and it likely won't even look as good. So GC owners will be able to brag that they got the game early, and that it's the better looking of the two.

Agreed. If you hear it from a reputable news-site, then you can take it as more then that.The source of information is Spong though. I rather wait for a more reliable source. But I've also heard about this. So far I'd class it as rumor though.
