This video didn't show it, but Jermaine O'neal was about to punch another fan too, the asshole poured soda and threw popcorn all over him. That was fucked up.

I'm pretty sure incidents like this happen more than once yearly in all sporting events. I don't think alcohol had much to do with it really, the player was way too hot headed.

You're right.

I remember when in football over here, Jamie Carragher had a coin thrown at him so he turned around and threw the coin back at the fan. The referee saw it and he got sent off. He also got fined (I think), etc.

Also, another incident I remember is when El Hadji Diouf was spitting at Celtic fans and so forth and yet again, he's in trouble for a supposedly similar incident that happened only roughly a week or two ago. He was fined by his club, fined by the F.A. and took to court.

Not only that, but the Spain V England game was marred by racist chants and monkey noises everytime a black English player got near the ball.

Sport is always marred by bad blood, unfortunately.

The players deserved to get thrown at. They are there for one reason, and thats to play basketball, not to bitch and fight eachother. It isnt god damn hockey

Uh, complete bullshit. They were playing basketball. If I recall, it was Wallace who started the fight, and Artest did nothing until stuff was thrown at him.
