    Default Good Photo Editor

I have been wanting to make my own sig for a while now, the only problem I am having is finding a good photo editor to it with. I am in college and dont have money to spend to go out and buy a photo editor, so I just wanted to know if there are any good free ones out there.

I suggest you should use The GIMP.
It's almost like photoshop but it's opensource so you're free to use it.

The website can be found here.

I downloaded THE GIMP, but its confusing and tough to use. It also wont let me edit any text I put in the picture. Know any better editors??

It takes time to learn certain things. It will let you edit text in picture , but you only need to find out how.

Yeah, it's tough at first, just like any pro photo editors. Photoshop, for instance, you can't just do everything you want. I had to take a class just for Photoshop.

I'm sure it can do that...

I don't really use the GIMP, but if you want italics you choose that as part of the font.

Do some searching and I'm sure you can find drop shadows.

If you click on the Text tool, on your little side box/bar thing you will have a bunch of options. One of them is an option to choose the font. Within the font menu you can choose italicized fonts.

For drop shadow: On the menu bar, Script-Fu > Shadow > Drop Shadow...

ive done the option with the drop shadow, but instead of putting the shadow behind the text it puts it behind the entire picture. The italicized thing is not on the font the menu. Can u see my problem??

You took a class. Why, so much more fun to learn on your own.

Choose a specific font. You should have italic choices among the others...

I think I got it to work finally. I exited out and started from scratch and now it seems to work. This sig i made is pretty sweet.
