Just sayin', I thought that was a bit funny what DL pulled there.

Well, the N95 respirator is pretty much a cheap face mask that you get fit tested for. The big hazmat hood thing goes over top.

No hazmat hood or anything. He was wearing a generic face mask like most of China does...you know the disposable ones that cover your mouth and nose?
All the rest was standard surgery gear from what I could tell, but obviously I have never worked in the medical field.

The visor was hilarious though, I've used them many times myself mainly to stop burning metal hitting my face and eyes

    Spoiler warning:

Yeah, but N95s also come in a disposable form similar to those. They don't catch everything though, there's some other thing the CDC is recommending now. N95s are used for TB patients, but of course mycobacteria are much larger than tiny virus particles.

At least, that's probably what he was wearing, I have no clue otherwise. I think there are about 4 hospitals here that have absolutely everything you'd need to treat an Ebola patient, and I think the closest one to me is in Atlanta, lawl.

There are about 0 hospitals here that have everything you'd need to treat an Ebola patient, apparently.

To be honest, the only reason I've been on here lately is because I caught it and wanted your expert medical opinion.

My opinion is that it's been nice knowing you. Stay over there in Texas. <3

It's kind of funny how much people are freaking out about it here, tbh. Traffic has been excellent all week because my office is one exit down from Texas Health Presbyterian. The likelihood of coming within six degrees of separation to one of the ebola patients is negligible, but people still don't want to be in Dallas.

I guess that makes this the perfect time to go house-hunting.

Not a bad plan, it's not that you'll have to fully pay for it

There is one hospital here which is designated to deal with ebola and my father works in it, thankfully no ebola cases so far.

Same rant I posted yesterday, but my car needs petrol again. I'm not made of money! Bloody thing!
And I'm only getting 40MPG in a car apparently capable of 50MPG. I guess I'm too heavy footed.

I'm pretty sure our car gets about 20MPG.

Then again, your gasoline is probably like twice as expensive. lul UK.

Yeah probably. I only put £20 in it and it lasts me about a month. So not bad. I'm a low mileage driver though, only average about 200 miles a month. That's to work and back, and a weekend drive to my Grandad's house.

Don't fill your car all the time because: extra weight.

Just curious, do you get your fuel by gallon price or by litre at the pump?

I don't, I only ever have half a tank maximum, I'm down to under a quarter and have a yellow fuel warning light on.

    Priced per litre.
