try apocalypse,a fun third person shooter with fast gameplay,lots of enemies,weapons,explosions...what a good 3d contra should have been!.

maybe vagrant story would suit your tastes? it's a bit more rpg than a hack and slash, but it's definitely got some of those elements. As for platformers, maybe try the odd world series
