Yeah, I'm not sure quite what it is about Milo Goes to College but it's stuck with me ever since I first heard it at the age of fourteen (back then I was kind of emo and liked listening to 'Hope' a lot ). It was basically my first "proper" punk record and I've only grown to love it more since then.
I consider Suffer to be quite overrated, actually. Then, I think The Empire Strikes First (second most recent one, not sure how into them you are) is one of their best albums so what do I know? New Maps of Hell (most recent) was a huge disappointment.

I think my main problem with MGTC (I do like it though) is that I listened to it at a bad time. I'm sure I would love it now, had I only discovered the Descendents a few years earlier. =/

    Michael Ballack, he scores free-kicks.

Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl

Soft pop-rock perfection. I have listened to this album more than any other and have never got bored, nor skipped a track. Brilliance.

    Honourable mentions to;
    Arcade Fire - Black Mirror
David Ford - Songs for the Road
QOTSA - Songs for the Deaf
    RHCP - By The Way

Theres loads more, but my brain hurts.

Im currently listening to an album recommended to me.

    Burial - Untrue

Its incredible. To call it Garage music would be to do it an injustice, its quite dark, and very immersive. Dont take the Garage reference at face value, I ignored this album for ages because of it, and it was a huge error. Cant recommend this highly enough.

There're a couple of Katatonia albums I think are near perfect, Viva Emptiness being the one that stands out foremost. It has such a dark feel to it, far surpassing their previous albums (those after Jonas lost his voice, the ones before I consider to be completely different); it almost feels like a continuous piece of music, and no track leaves me wanting more. Great stuff.

Only one album I can actually say I like/love every song and that would be Metallica's Black album.

the beatles - the beatles at the hollywod bowl

I never get bored of listening to it over and over and over, and I've been listening to it since 20 years ago...this is what turned me in to a totally obsessed fan of the band.
For some reason, their performances live are by far better than the studio counterparts, the songs sound faster, raw, with more "energy" or "feeling" than the studio watered-down versions, also the vocals, they don't fake that "happy 60's pop" voices (think about that happy "eeee" and "ooohs"),they just sing with their real voices, and it sounds better that way. The rock songs rock harder, and the slow or pop songs, have more "feeling" and "enthusiasm",and a couple of songs that in the studio albums are just pop, this time, live, they rock, they played them with a different arrangement and I really wonder why they didn't play like that in the studio.
Anyway, this album is perfect in terms of content, not in terms of audio quality of course,we're talking about a live recording made in direct stereo with a 3 tracks machine, and it's 100% live without overdubs or studio doctoring, sometimes it almost sounds as a "raw mix",but, the contents is what is important, and the songs are great, even better than the well-known studio versions.
rant: now, considering it's the only official live album by a band as important as the beatles,WHY THE HELL CAPITOL AND EMI REFUSE TO REMASTER IT AND RE-RELEASE IT ON CD!!!. IT'S AVAIABLE ONLY ON VINYL (exept for fake or pirate editions) AND CASETTE,NOT ON CD,AND THEY KEEP RELEASING STUPID "greatest hits" COMPILATIONS OR MADE-UP SHIT LIKE THE CIRQUE-DE-SOLEI-SHOW ALBUM OR THE "let's ruin let it be and make a quick cash-in with this" ALBUM CALLED "let it be naked",BUT NO,THE OFFICIAL LIVE ALBUM OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CLASSIC ROCK BAND,DOESN'T GET A RE-RELEASE ON CD. GRAAAAA!!!.

ps: the double-set cd called "live at the bbc" doesn't count: only 3 of the more than 50 tracks were actually recorded live in front of an audience, the other tracks were recorded in the bbc studios. ok,they were recorded in a one-track one-take everybody-play-and-sing way,but I don't consider it live since there is no audience present.

Pelger, if you are that die-hard Beatles fan may be you'll be interested in Rock tribute to them "Butchering the Beatles" performed by famous rock musicians like Alice Cooper and Lemmy, Ozzy Osbourne band players and so on. If interested, I can pm you the link (if it's stil there and not deleted)

Okay, add Agalloch - The Mantle to my list. It's probably the single best album I've ever heard, maybe tied with God Is An Astronaut - All Is Violent, All Is Bright.

(Yes, I've had The Mantle for years now, but I'm just now really realizing how amazing it is.)
