To be brutally honest with you, I don't know. See whenever I hit the PS button and it takes me to the XMB menu or whatever, the battery is just a hypen it will have the battery symbol and then just "-" that's it.

If it has a battery but no port then I guess inductive charging is the only option.
What does it look like underneath?

Did some googling and that controller looks like it's an Afterglow wireless. It isn't bluetooth it's 2.4GHz wireless.
It should have a usb port for charging, might be micro like DS4 not mini like DS3.
Anyway, getting back to your 2x non-working controllers...connect it up via usb and with your PS3 off hold down the PS button on the controller, then boot the console from it's own power button. Keep the PS button held down until well after the console has started up and see if the controller light goes solid (not blinking).
