Default Encrypted P2P: Blessing, or trap?

(Sorry if this was mentioned before, but I searched and found no threads about it.)

By now we should all know about RIAA and MPAA, and their plans to bring down file-sharing applications. But now I've just heared about a new program that's supposed to "encrypt" your connection, and not show your IP in any way, wether you're uploading or downloading.

Now, I'm not sure about this... I wanted everyone's opinions on this case.

The program is called Earthstation Five (es5). It claims to use special "Stealth & Cloaking Technology to protect Your Privacy". In other words, this thing is exactly like Kazaa or WinMX, but it actually makes you invisible.

Now, at first, this would sound great. But on the other hand, this could also be a trap set up by the RIAA and MPAA.

Just check out their site and tell me what you think. http://www.es5.com

Sounds a bit bogus. K++ works just fine for me.

It's an upgraded Kazaa. I believe it blocks unwanted IPs(think RIAA), has a more advanced search, and is just all-around better.

It also comes with no spyware. Hmm... That does sound fishy.

Spyware is when something records everything you do and sends it to it's site. You don't want it.

Kazaalite dose not stop RIAA.. i dont know why you think it would..

but you have it all wrong.. they dont care about P2P programs... just people downloading things they own the copyright to...

Kazaa Lite++ does have an option that blocks "bad IP ranges(i.e: RIAA)".
If its copyrights they care about, and not P2P, then they are pretty much powerless. With such a vast amount of data floating around the web at sites or through peer to peer networks(lets say Mp3s for example), how can they possibly stop the flow of "illegal" data?
*thinks about the MGS2 storyline and the GW artificial intelligence used to "censor the net"* Lol. That would be interesting.

When this year ends, a new law will be put into action here in Sweden. That law will ban the P2P technology. Not the programs but the actual technology. Stupid I say. They are discriminating those who actually are sharing legal stuff... If such people exist of course. But it's stupid either way.

Not the programs, but the actual technology? Do you mean they are gonna shut down servers that host p2p networks? I dont get it, anyone can set up a Direc Connect hub(for example), so does it mean that person will be arrested? 0.o Btw, Ive seen tons of Swedish DC hubs before
