LOL, I sure hope earthstation 5 RIAA because I jumped the earth station 5 path as soon as I heard they were open back in june, now they are gaining quite a few members in the millions now actually I notice weekly that the search returns are growing hugely. So if this was by the RIAA why would it be growing at such a rapid rate from what I am hearing the NOW FASTEST growing p2p service ever, why would the RIAA go to all the trouble of adding countless new features other p2ps before it never taught of, and mainly if it is run or connected to the RIAA why am I now caught or anyone who I know that uses earth station 5 contacted yet?

Must i say this again.. RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) dose not care about P2P programs.. they cant shut them down they know that(they lost thoses lawsuits)... the only things they care about are the things they own the copyright to... so as long as you dont download Copyrighted music and movies.. then you dont need to worry about them...

Also... ES5 is not a trap... because that would be Entrapment...and would cause lots of problems with there court case...

I do however think that ES5 is not all it's cracked up to be...

The law for Sweden is AFAIK, making uploading to P2P (copyrighted files) illegal, but oddly enough not the same for download.

I'll have to try and find more about this law

GundamGuy, I agree with all that you have said. P2P itself is not illegal, it is some of the files you can download that are.

Well there's a chance RIAA made their own custom crappy little P2P program, promising all kinds of stuff, that simply aren't there. Then they can easily monitor all users for illegal activity. But first they let the community grow, so they can get everyone in one go.

I know it's farfetched, but RIAA has been very scary lately, I mean, mass-sueing everyone who has illegal songs, even childeren?

/shrug, I think that's what the latest RIAA actions are: scare tactics to make people second-guess themselves. Ultimately I think they'll just backfire.

In the long run yes, right now it seems everywhere I go I hear this talk about the feared RIAA even if p2p were to pretty empty due to everyone being scared away, theres still other way of getting what your heart desires out there newsgroups, mirc, etc.

Go with Ares. It seems pretty damn safe to me. Especially since its not one of the top used, but I"ve still found everything I want. And believe me, p2p is under heavy fire and the recording industry DEFINITLY is interested. Don't tell me they aren't. I KNOW people who have been busted using Kazaa and the such. Its the most attacked cuz everyone uses it. They may not be able to shut it down, but they can sue everyone who uses it.
