    Default Trap 00000002; how do i fix it?

    i've just built a pc and i'm tryin to install an os on it (XP Home). but, whenever i get into setup, i get and error message titled Trap 0000002. Below, there is just a lot of code. How do i fix this?

    Sounds like the ram could be mucked up. Go and check it with a memory tester.

    How could that be? My computer is perfect until i start the setup.

    It does sound like a memory issue though like Lord Riff Raff has stated.

    it should give you an error code like 0x00000e5 report back with that error.

    Just remove what ever memory module you have and use another and if install goes through then you know it's your memory.

    How can that be? well until some software starts using ram you won't know if you have ram troubles, because all software dumps temporary memory to ram, if your ram module is bad you'll get bad dumps.


    Graphics, and 3D polygons don't make great games, story-lines do!!

    but memory isn't exactly cheap these day...

    Um memory is cheap.

    I remember paying $500 for 4mb. You only need to buy a 128mb stick to test. Or take the machine down to a shop and ask them to chuck in their "good" stick and test if it's your ram.

    Finally search google for "memory checker download", you'll need a spare floppy and they can check your memory by running a call and flip to every memory address.
