Good music doesn't stop being good as time goes on. See music from classical/romantic period.

Agreed, old-ass mofos like Mozart and Beethoven are still pretty damn tight.

Radiohead and The Cure = good.
    Heavy Metal = sux

I remember a country named something like "The greatest country song ever written" or something that was as well-produced as it was hilarious.

As good a reason as any to mock, insult and generally deride it.

Radiohead is, or should I say, WAS a great band. Hail to the Thief, their stab at American politics - which, as citizens of the UK, they should have no say in whatsoever - was too preachy to be considered anything more than decent. That's the one thing that bothers me most about musicians - they'll let their personal politics - in this case, devout socialism - get in the way of good music. Political music can be great (Dead Kennedys, System of a Down, Public Enemy), but if done poorly, it can really suck (Anti-Flag, Goldfinger's Open Your Eyes, etc.).

I've never been a Cure fan. Maybe it was Robert's vocals, but something kept me away.

While my tastes are far too eclectic to be categorized as "primarily anything," I still enjoy the stuff that doesn't really fit in with my way of thinking (e.g. Dead Kennedys, System of a Down and Neil Young).
The psychotic dress, the senseless feature terrifies every living creature. Predictability is wearing thin; groundbreaking practice for the preacher.

I agree with andvari, I find too much of Radioheads new stuff too wanky.

As for the Cure, I absolutely love their mid-80's pop stuff, and the goth/nu-wave material they put out in the Pornography/Faith era (Charlotte Sometimes = Best Song Ever). Their new material tries to recapture their early sound, and succeeds in some ways, but I think we've seen their best stuff.

Sign me up for both. I think both are great. and don't merely listen enough to these bands. I will though.

fully agree on the cure stuff. the early music was the best. the newer poppish kinda is ok...some stuff is good. have you listened to the new cd? it's not too bad.

Yeh I have. Although I didn't find it too poppy, I don't think it's anything special. Hacing said I've only listened to it twice, so more listens are probably needed.
