    Default windows media player problem

Hello im having a problem with windows media player. I have been downloading things from p2p programs like morpheus and limewire but when i open the videos instead of seeing the movie i see some wierd music video backround. I do not have this problem with real player files but i cannot open windows media player files with real player.

Maybe you just need codecs for it.

Upgrade to the last wmp available (10) from the microsoft website. If they are porno videos, take in mind they are probably protected with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and probably cannot be viewed.

    Polo knows is porn.

And, please do correct me, but isn't WMP 10 still buggy and shitty? Or wasn't there a major problem with it that might have been solved by now?
As for the codecs, I believe that the player indicates that it is missing them. Try it with another player, Quicktime if you have it, VLC or any other, just to see if the files themselves aren't corrupted.

I actually have the same problem. It's just that when Limewire is opened up or downloading, the music players (all of them for mine, including WMP, RealPlayer and Winamp) are buggy. I don't know why, but it stopped doing that a couple of weeks ago.

If limewire is a p2p client and you play files while they are being shared, ya, shouldn't work.

Why wouldn't it work? I have no problem uploading something when listneing to it, unless it is still downloading.

Take AVIcodec (http://avicodec.duby.info/) or Gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) and scan your movie into one of these, it ill tell you the codec needed. After that a quick google search will get you there.

glad you got it to work, sorry to hear about the low quality.

Just for future reference, i'd like to recommened the K-lite Codec pack, which can be downloaded from free-codecs.com

It contains hundreds of popular codecs in one install, and so far, I have not found a single file that I could not play using that codec pack.

Also, note that it has no relationship to k-lite or kazaa, simply that the people who made it decided to mooch off the k-lite name.
