    Default Alundra woes.. :(

Years ago I played this game. Ever since then I've been looking for another game like it and I can't find many. It's a Zelda style game, 2d overhead action adventure game full of puzzles. Awesome game, puzzles are actually challenging, not some simplistic "you have a locked door, red box, and a square hole coloured red.. how do you unlock the door" type of puzzles in most rpgs, lol.

The Zelda series, Beyond Oasis... so since it's over for these types of 2d action games, any suggestions? Preferably snes or newer but open to nes or gen.

While on that subject, any 3d adventure games with puzzles in them? Resident Evil is as close as I've seen, but NOT boring Myst, ugh..

    Dual Hearts.

    PS2, Third person 3D
Not exactly the same, but a similar dream-esque storyline.

Such games like Alundra really are a very rare find. And what a shame it is. However, while the actual puzzles might not be that challenging, I really do suggest that you try out Terranigma for SNES. It's a really good action RPG and one of my favorite games ever.

Just make sure you choose the rich dude for mayor...

Landstalker for the Genesis. Looks like Alundra.
Crusader of Centy to the Genesis. A Zelda-like.
Shining Wisdom for the Saturn, I think.

    Will think of others.

For a nice mix of puzzle/action I'd recommend Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. I really enjoyed it when it first came out, it's still great. The puzzles are usually of the 'explore your surroundings to be able to pass through' variety. Play the demo and you'll see.

Golden axe warrior for the Sega master system. Old, but very Zelda-like.

Also Final fantasy chrystal chronicles is pretty good action/RPG.

Yeah Landstalker is similar to Alundra....

Landstalker is not the prequel to Alundra...

I have played both...that is probably the closest thing to Alundra.

Alundra IS based on Landstalker, if not a sequel.

Both games were made by the same people, but I have found nothing linking them story-wise that would allow me to say that Alundra is a sequel.

Trivia: Nigel, main character of Landstalker, can also be seen in Nightstalker for the Dreamcast.
