RPG is too general, What type of Role Playing Game are we talking about? Many games can be tagged as an RPG

I'm stuck between Megaten (Shin Megami Tensei, Devil Children) and Summon Night Craft Sword Monogatari (The games where the enemies actually seem to have an AI)

FFTA had childish storyline and characters, that was my problem with the game. Go play Tactics Ogre or FF Tactics, and notice the difference.

Like, almost any game, if you take the term literally, it's not often that you're not playing the role of some character, and the story just unfolds itself.
So, as it should be pretty obvious, games that were derived from pen and paper RPGs (which were derived from the LOTR books, originally), and then possibly made it to an isometric/3D view.
Basically where you raise your stats and stuff.
That should be loose enough to include most games that are tagged as RPGs nowadays, though not having much role-playing in them.

I really liked collecting the djinn in Golden Sun and also thought it was cool loading characters from the first game. The whole djinn class system was sweet also.

Onimusha Tactics was kinda fun but very generic and easy,
Sword of Mana was ok also. I'm only recomending these games if you are desperate for gba games, I was and played them at work.

Oh and FF I and II Dawn of Souls was a great play.

My choices are actually primarily Japan-only releases, yet they show quite a bit of effort, like Craft Sword Monogatari series. The newest game, who's title roughly translates as Sword of Stone or somthing like that has monsters who have a mood system, you do some crazy stunt and they might freak out and run for it. XD Always good for a laugh. (Added to that you can play AS the monsters and bosses)

My only gripe with it is that gameplay wise it was far too frsutrating really. The law and racial systems were too restrictive, the laws were tolerble at the start but once you reach 3 laws at a time most of chracters would probably be rendered useless. Dmg2: Animals is the most annoying law ever, most of chracters can even evade it in monster only battles. Laws and Races aside it is good compared to a few other RPG games but its just too restricitve. I'm not putting it down because colourful or anything.

Shining Soul games were pretty good, though I prefer the second one.
Then there's Shining Force, too. Haven't played it really so I can't say if it's good or not.

Pokemon games are underrated... People tend to be unable to seperate the quite decent games from the lame anime (made even worse by the horrid cut dub common in the English-speaking world). So yeah, the Pokemon games would have to e on the list. Riviera is quite nice, but the menu-based movement is odd...

I've yet to play Lunar, but if it's anywhere near the quality of it's Sega CD forebears, it should be amazing... It certainly is supposed to beat the pants off the new Lunar DS game...

Keep wishing because they decided to not release them in the US or Europe

Although they do plan on making Earthbound 3 for the GBA as well but I have grim feelings about the game for some reason

I'd support the craft sword series. They rock totally. FFTA is rather nice, albeit boring at the start. It's actually quite fun to be messing about with the more advanced classes such as gunners for moogles. Riviera is nice too.

As a sidenote, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is not such a nice game... It's boring >.<
Behind every action awaits the corresponding consequences <br>

    Onimusha Tactics
