Opeth - Demon Of The Fall

I love the use of octaves in this song. They make the riffs sound harsh and aggressive, yet delicate. From about 2 mins 20, we hear what is one of my favourite minutes of music ever. There is a buildup on a tinny clean guitar, before the same riff is played distorted, with Mikael screaming his lungs out over the top. DEMON! DEMON OF THE FALL!...

    Pain Of Salvation - Water

I'm listening to alot of them now, they're probably my favourite band right now. About the song ; as usual, good intro, this song is mainly slow and with light vocals which i really love, their light vocals rule. Oh yeah, guitar in this song is also great!

    Iron Maiden - Paschendale...

Dance Of Death is a really good album, this is one of the 8 minute epics from the album, and could end up being my favourite from it. I really think The Rainmaker should have been the single, not Wildest Dreams. It's so much better, and it has so much more single potential...

Foo Fighters - How I Miss You

B-Side off the "I'll Stick Around" single, I personally think this track would of been worthy of getting on the album.

And as for this thread not being spam - bullshit!! I can still remember posting my ass off in the original thread, and Johnny, you were the worst spammer of them all!

Opeth - Under the Weeping Moon

This is one of my favorite Opeth songs to play on guitar. This is from Orchid, way back when Opeth wrote long rock epics with simple, though fast, riffs. The complexity was still present in the music, not from individual guitars but from a combined entwining of every riff from each guitar. Mikael's vocals were also harsher and more grated at this time, allowing him to supplement the more melodic riffs at every turn.

    Muse - Megalomania
I don't think many people are fond of this song, it is a different sound from other Muse tracks. But it remains my favourite one. The drums are to my liking in this piece, where as the drums in other pieces bore me slightly.

Hehe, I'm aware of that, let me rephrase. It is no longer a place to spam.

    Iron Maiden - Powerslave

It's one of my favourite Maiden tracks, I love the egyptian feel the main riff has, kind of goes with the album cover theme. I'm also learning some of it on guitar, I'm about to have my first lesson in half an hour, I'm trying to learn something that may impress...

Yes - Close To The Edge
Listening to this lovely work of mainly instrumental music. I love everthing about it, except for the first 50 seconds of the song. The organ solo, especially, highlights my listen. Unfortunately, the album and Tales from Topographic Oceans are monetarily out of my reach.

Original Soundtrack, of like a game or an anime or something...

Days Of The New - Touch, Peel And Stand

Post Grunge wannabes, they might be, but I really like the riff in this song, so I learned it. Unfortunately, it's in drop d, and I'm sick of tuning my guitar up and down...
